NEWS: Guerilla Opera appoints Aliana as new Co-Artistic Director!

Guerilla Opera’s board of directors has appointed Aliana de la Guardia and Julia Noulin-Mérat as co-artistic directors! They have been working together to produce the experimental company’s world premiere operas and productions since 2009. Together, now they will serve as the faces of the company.

NEWS: "The Vocal Music of Alan Beeler" Available on Navona Records

On this album pianist Karolina Rojahn and soprano Aliana de la Guardia perform THE SUTTON SONGS with poetry by Dorothy Sutton. Angular melodies and tart harmonies are effectively juxtaposed against gentle, lilting duets in this 7-movement work.

NEWS: Aliana Nominated as Best Lead Actress in a Musical or Opera

Aliana is nominated for a 2014 ArtsImpulse Theatre Award under the category of Best Leading Actress in a Musical or Opera for her performance as Mother/Shopper in Guerilla Opera's production of "Gallo" by Ken Ueno!

NEWS: Center for Contemporary Opera Debut

Aliana makes her NYC debut in the world premiere of "Oration" by Line Tjørnhøj, during New Opera Week with the Center for Contemporary Opera. "Oration" is “a speech for humanity. Oration gives a unique description of the human experience and the love and hate, hope and despair, suffering and joy we see in our lifetimes."
