“True happiness comes from having a sense of inner peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved by cultivating altruism, love and compassion, and by eliminating anger, selfishness and greed.”

Dalai Lama

On Saturday, May 5th I buzzed my hair live on Facebook for friends and family! My goal was to raise awareness and money for services that make life during treatment less stressful for children battling cancer and their families.

I joined hundreds of people of all ages who have chosen to raise money for pediatric cancer programs by shaving their heads. Proceeds will fund programs and services that make life brighter for kids fighting cancer and their families. Programs like music and art therapy, birthday parties and holiday celebrations, hospital room makeovers, toys, games and much, much more. Benefitting partners include Boston Children’s Hospital, The Jimmy Fund Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Yes, I have lost family members to cancer, and I feel strongly about supporting organizations that support kids and their families. I love kids! I feel such compassion for families whose lives have been turned upside down from unexpected and unpredictable circumstances. These days I often feel surrounded with bad news and divisiveness. I want to make a real effort to do some good. I hope, in the long run, it makes a difference.

I am still actively seeking donations to support my bold efforts by raising as much money as I can. I have currently raised over $1,500! Sponsor me and learn more about The Buzz Off at http://www.onemissionbuzzoff.org/dirtypaloma.

Thank you in advance for joining me in this effort! Let’s make the world better together by lending our voices and money to programs that help people!
